Stephanie Escobar has been the Senior Study Abroad Advisor at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia since 2013, and previously spent nearly three years as a Study Abroad Advisor at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She has experience designing and facilitating dozens of short-term study abroad programs, but most enjoys advising individual students on long-term programs and competitive study abroad scholarships. Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio University, with minors in international business and east Asian studies, where she studied Chinese and Spanish languages. She began her love of global learning during her undergraduate studies in Australia and China, and developed a further interest in service and non-profit organizations during her time as an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps member. Since Stephanie joined the field of international education, she has traveled to nearly a dozen countries. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing students after they’ve returned from their time abroad and seeing how much they’ve grown from their experiences.
