7 Photos That’ll Convince You to Study in Florida

July 21, 2016

ISEP student Beatrice U. is a part of ISEP Voices Spring 2016. She is studying for a master’s in international relations at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and is currently studying abroad at Eckerd College in Florida.

Recently, Eckerd College organized an off-campus kayak trip to visit the crystal clear waters of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park and check out the wildlife, including birds, turtles and manatees. Like other trips organized by Eckerd College, the transportation, equipment and food was provided for free for Eckerd College students. We just had to give a $1o deposit to book the trip and they gave us the money back at the end of the day.

We left at around 9 a.m. on a sunny day and we drove north for 40-50 minutes to reach the park. After arriving there, we changed our clothes, grabbed the kayaks and went exploring the nature. We spent the whole day kayaking to complete the five and a half miles of picturesque natural beauty and clean waters of the river. It was so much fun! The water was so clean that I had the chance to see and touch two turtles, manatees and a lot of different kinds of birds. The mangrove trees were so tall that you felt so small in comparison with them. Florida is my place, and I want to live here forever.
