Join ISEP University Relations Managers (URMs) and coordinators from around the world for an afternoon of engaging discussions centered around the theme of “ISEP Olympics.” We’ll draw inspiration from the upcoming Olympic Games to enhance our international education practices. Here’s what inbound and outbound coordinators can expect from this year’s workshop:

Lessons from the Olympic Village

  • Explore cross-cultural communication and expectation management.

  • Reflect on cultural communication styles and their impact.

  • Collaborate with global ISEP Coordinators on case studies.

  • Strategize how to implement learnings into personal/institutional contexts.

Who is Your “Olympic Team?”

  • Define compassion fatigue and its effects on international educators.

  • Discuss support structures within your office.

  • Brainstorm sustainable, supportive practices for self, teams, and students.

Session: Inclusive Comprehensive Internationalization: From Theory to Practice

Overview:
Comprehensive internationalization and diversity and inclusion efforts are often separate within higher education institutions. How can international educators foster inclusive internationalization? This session explores strategies and best practices from Europe and the United States for wider adoption.

    Learning Objectives:
    • Learn and reflect on what Inclusive Comprehensive Internationalization means and some approaches that are used to achieve it

    • Analyze the challenges and lessons learned from both European and US examples

    • Apply an inclusive comprehensive internationalization approach to participants’ unique institutional context


Session: Education Abroad Visas: Critical Updates for Study Abroad Advisers

Overview:
This session provides study abroad advisers with updates on student visa procedures for France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and other countries. NAFSA Consular Affairs Liaison (CAL) Subcommittee members lead discussions for each of the country groups.

    Learning Objectives:
    • Understand and apply up-to-date study abroad visa regulations and processes.

    • Establish appropriate guidelines at your institution and address questions related to study abroad visa advising.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of the education abroad visa resources available to advisers and students.
