Malikka Hutchins

Marketing Coordinator

Malikka Hutchins is an International Education professional whose passion for the field was sparked by a study abroad experience in South Korea—an opportunity she was able to pursue thanks to the Gilman Scholarship. Upon returning from her program as the first in her family to travel abroad, Malikka graduated with her B.A. in Communication, along with minors in Creative Writing and Korean. She later went on to pursue graduate studies in International Education at New York University, where she also served as Communications Officer for the International Education Student Board. Since then, Malikka has worked at universities across the tri-state area in roles supporting both inbound and outbound students. She joined ISEP in 2026 as a Marketing Coordinator and is grateful for the opportunity to combine her love of writing with her commitment to expanding study abroad access for underrepresented students. Her engagement in the field includes serving as the Education Abroad Knowledge Community Liaison for NAFSA Region X (2024–2025), being named a NAFSA RISE Fellow (2023–2024), and receiving the Ping-Taylor Professional Fellows Grant in 2025. In her free time, Malikka enjoys traveling, writing, reading, gaming, and almost anything that allows her to explore new places and meet new people. She speaks four languages (and is currently learning ASL), has visited more than 30 countries, and hopes to continue traveling the world with her family as frequently as possible.
