Samantha Newell
Student Services Officer | United Kingdom and Ireland
Samantha is originally from New Hampshire and currently resides in Wilmington, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College in Boston. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad while visiting 15 countries — including the UK and Ireland — where she fell in love with traveling the world and exploring new cultures. After graduating, Samantha spent three years teaching internationally in Thailand, Sweden, and Costa Rica. In total, she taught for eight years before deciding to shift her focus to higher education. She is currently finishing her M.Ed. in Higher Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, with a focus on global citizenship. As part of her graduate studies, she completed a short-term internship in the International Office at Maynooth University in Ireland. Prior to joining ISEP, Samantha worked for a year and a half as a graduate assistant in the UNCW Office of Education Abroad, supporting international programs and advising students on study abroad opportunities. When she’s not working, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her two dogs, sailing, practicing yoga, reading, and painting.
