How to Study Abroad as a STEM Major

March 2, 2015

We know that figuring out how to study abroad within your major can sometimes be challenging, especially if you’re studying Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). Maybe you have questions about where you can go, or what specifically you can study, or what it’s like to study within STEM fields at an international university. We’ve got resources to help make this adventure as easy as possible.

1. Join us for ISEP Live to hear about STEM universities

ISEP Live

ISEP Live is a short session that’s hosted weekly on Google Hangout on Air, where you can hear about different programs and then ask your questions to ISEP staff and former students. This week (Wednesday, March 4, 2015), we’ll be talking about universities that are particularly strong in STEM areas. Don’t worry if you can’t make it – it’s saved on Youtube for continuous viewing.

2. Envision where you could study with our major specific maps

Our major specific maps (like this Biology ISEP Destinations map) make it easy for you to visualize where you can find programs that are strong in specific academic areas. Currently, we have major specific maps for Biology, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Follow us on Pinterest to stay updated on what programs are available.

3. Connect directly with former ISEP students through our Facebook group

Our Facebook group is for potential, current, and former ISEP students. Students who have gone on our programs are very passionate about their experience, and often are very eager to talk about it! Students have connected through the group for a variety of reasons, whether it’s to find other students going to their host university at the same time, to offer advice about their home university, or many more.

4. Tweet at ISEP staff

Got a quick question? Connect with ISEP staff on Twitter to stay updated on program information and ask a question if you’re stuck on something. You can find ISEP staff on Twitter HERE.
