Why Giving Back Is Part of Our Mission

November 23, 2016

As one of our 54,000 alumni or 326 member institutions, you know firsthand the enduring and life-changing experience of studying abroad. One of the greatest lessons I learned while studying abroad, maybe like you, is we achieve greater and more meaningful success when we join together for a common cause.   In this spirit, I ask you to join me this Giving Tuesday to raise additional funding for ISEP student scholarships to study abroad.

On November 29, we embark on Around the World in 24, our fundraising campaign to send six students to six different continents next year.

How you can make a difference:

1. Engage

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @ISEPStudyAbroad.

2. Share Your Story

Share your story and encourage your network to support this campaign. Generate buzz by sharing photos from your study abroad experience. Tag #GivingTuesday, #ISEPstory, #AroundtheWorldin24 and #ISEPStudyAbroad. Please email me at president@isep.org and I will send you next steps and a sample email so you are fully equipped to spread the word.

3. Give back

Your charitable gift will give students like you the opportunity to think, create and learn beyond the four walls of their classroom. One hundred percent of your gift – no matter the size – extends local and regional boundaries.

Amount is required

Not only will your gift help more than one student, it will contribute to building a more peaceful, just and inclusive world through intercultural understanding. To achieve this goal, I will personally match the first US$1,000 contributed on Giving Tuesday for ISEP student scholarships

I hope you will take the chance to enable deserving students to have the same opportunity and benefit of studying abroad as you had.

With gratitude,

John S. Lucas, Ph.D.

President and CEO, ISEP
