New Leaders and Members for ISEP Board of Directors

Arlington, Va. — ISEP welcomes Hsiu-Zu Ho, Ph.D and Ki-Jeong Lee, Ph.D to the Board of Directors.

Members of the ISEP Board of Directors elected two prominent international education leaders to join the ISEP Board for a 3-year term, effective July 1, 2017:

Hsiu-Zu Ho, Ph.D Professor and Associate Dean, University of California Education Abroad Program (U.S.), is a recognized expert in ethnic variations in parent involvement and student academic achievement in U.S. and Taiwanese populations. She is a frequent writer for and presenter at national and international organizations and conferences.

Ki-jeong Lee, Ph.D Vice-President of International Affairs, Hanyang University (South Korea), has served in leadership roles for several international organizations, including President of the Korean Association of Foreign Students Administrators (KAFSA). He is a current Vice President of the Asia Pacific Association for International Education.

“I am pleased that Dr. Lee and Dr. Ho have agreed to serve on the ISEP Board of Directors,” said Thomas Hochstettler, Ph.D Chair of the Nominations and Governance Committee. “We welcome their distinctive insights on matters of international student mobility, doubly so because of their extensive experience within this increasingly critical field of higher education engagement. Their participation will add new and welcomed perspectives to our efforts to serve our ever-widening constituencies with relevant and stimulating international study opportunities.”

Board members also elected colleagues to the Executive Committee of the Board for a 2-year term, effected July 1, 2017:

Chair: Ms. Heidi Gregori-Gahan, Assistant Provost, University of Southern Indiana

Vice Chair: Madeleine F. Green, Ph.D Senior Fellow, International Association of Universities and NAFSA: The Association of International Educators

Past Chair: Everett Egginton, Ph.D Professor Emeritus and former Dean and Vice Provost International and Border Programs, New Mexico State University

Secretary: Mr. Keith Clausen, President and CEO Envisage International Corporation

Treasurer: Mr. Stephen Connelly, Director, GlobalEd Services

ISEP’s President and CEO, John S. Lucas, Ph.D said “I look forward to working with this strong leadership team as we prepare for a new phase of strategic planning for the organization. I am also grateful to Dr. Hochstettler,” Lucas continued, “for his exemplary leadership as Chair and then Past Chair of the Board of Directors during a time of growth and transition for the organization.” Hochstettler retired as an ISEP Board member on June 30, 2017.
