Hey there! My name is Rebecca Bessa and I study communications with a concentration in corporate and organizational skills at Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts- about 25 minutes from Boston. I’ll be studying abroad through ISEP Direct next semester in Sydney, Australia at Macquarie University. This opportunity is something I always dreamed of but never thought would come true. After re-evaluating my priorities I worked my hardest to make it a reality. I’m most excited about fully immersing myself within the city life and Australian culture all the while continuing my education.

blog Adjusting to an Australian Way of Life My Australian accent sounds far from Australian. When I try it just ends up sounding like a weird mix of British and Irish, which would only sound close to the Australian if it were severely auto tuned.
blog Reflections En Route to My Study Abroad Adventure I was never one to take school seriously — not in high school and not even when I enrolled myself in a community college after graduation. I considered myself to be one of those people that wouldn’t excel in school because I never had before.
