ISEP Appoints Andrea Custodi, Ph.D., as Vice President of Academic Strategy and Program Development
July 7, 2025ARLINGTON, July 7, 2025 - ISEP Study Abroad (ISEP) has appointed Andrea Custodi, Ph.D., to the position of Vice President of Academic Strategy and Program Development, effective July 7, 2025. Custodi, a proven international education leader, will serve as a member of the ISEP Executive Team and report to Chief Operating Officer, Edson Olds.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Custodi join ISEP’s leadership team in this new role at a critical time for our organization,” said Olds. “Her rich experience in academic affairs and curriculum development creates opportunities for ISEP to develop new program models, enhance our curriculum integration initiatives, and expand career exploration and preparedness within our portfolio. I’m excited to support her efforts to position ISEP to offer the most accessible, inclusive, and transformational international experiences for students throughout the world.”
Custodi will oversee the development of a new program portfolio for ISEP and lead academic strategy and career development initiatives. She will work closely with university partners, including Goucher College, to create greater access for diverse student populations, including athletes, transfer students, and Pell-eligible students, who have historically been less able to access semester-long study abroad opportunities.
“ISEP is well-positioned to advance and lead the field,” said Custodi. “As an innovative and nimble organization with a strong global network of dedicated partners, ISEP is uniquely able to create new opportunities for student mobility and high-quality experiential learning.”
Custodi brings over 20 years of experience in international program management, academic affairs, strategy, outreach, program design, and curriculum development to ISEP. She formerly served as the Dean and Vice President of Academic and Strategic Initiatives at CEA CAPA, Vice President of Academic Affairs at CAPA, and Senior Director of Academic Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at CET Academic Programs. She holds a Ph.D., two masters’ degrees, and a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University. Prior to her career in global education, Custodi studied abroad on an ISEP Exchange program in Lausanne, Switzerland, and also lived, worked, or studied abroad in Italy, France, Nepal, and India.
“As an education abroad professional, I have long been an admirer of ISEP for its leadership in the field and its unwavering commitment to our shared mission and values,” said Custodi. “As an ISEP alumna, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for ISEP!”
